Philco 630B

Hey guys-new to phorum.

Recently acquired a 630b. Has been recapped & aligned. Set is really sensitive & selective. I would like to pull the chassis out to replace the rubber mounts (sits a little low in cabinet). Also want to replace cord with a new cloth bound one, and replace original dial (partially illegible) with a new repro one. Will taking the chassis out and doing these things cause it to need to be re aligned? Also, would changing tubes call for re alignment? Have also heard to be careful removing & replacin tuning cap knobs.

Replacing the shock mounts should no effect alignment, neither will replacing the power cord, replacing the dial scale (though it can be mechanically out of alignment it's not the same thing) or removing the knobs. Depending on what tube is changed it may or may not effect the alignment, like changing the 6A7 could.

Do the 630b's knobs just pull off? Don't want to be tearin' up nuttin'!

If the knobs are the correct Philco ones they should just pull right off, most Philco knobs have a spring inside.
