Hi I am currently restoring a Philco 49-1278 need tips
#1

My set is has the same chassis but when I bought the set the entire radio had been deactivated the wires to the speaker had been cut off and the ac cord was missing. I wanted to verify if the speaker wire from the the radio and the tv hook on to 1 speaker because on the tv section the speaker wires are still connected. Also if you have a picture of the radio from underneath so that I can see how the ac cord is connected to the switch.

I do believe the radio and TV use the same speaker. I think there is a switch tied in to the TV power switch. Originally, one leg of the radio cord went to the switch and the other to the power supply. Note: The radio is hot chassis, so you will need to rewire the switch so one leg goes to the chassis and the other to the switch (disconnect and discard the wire going from the switch to chassis). I will look up your model and have better info in the next couple of days.
