41-295 REFINISHING
#1

I'm going to refinish my 41-295 , but before I start to strip it, does anyone know if Philco cabinets used the "PHOTO FINISH" like Zenith did ? ,It looks like they didn't but not 100% sure Icon_confused:

Hi Bill,
I don't beleive that set had Photo finish. Posting a picture of the area you think is PP we should be able to tell for sure.
Another way is to take a high power magnifier and look for the 'dots' that are usually seen on the PP areas.

I have a set in the basement I think is the same (I can't turn it right now around to check) But it does have inlaid wood strips in the front side pieces, and below the dial escutcheon.

There is a picture of a cabinet under restoration, and I did not see anything that looked like PP on that cabinet.
Philco did use photo finish on many sets, so it is best to check first.

Gary.
