Philco alignment adapter?
#1

I am going to be aligning my Philco 40-150 shortly. Going through the alignment instructions http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByMode ... 013331.pdf (on page 6), I found this:

I am guessing that the "alignment adapter" is just a tube socket adapter that allows access to the pins of the tube from the top of the chassis. If so, I will not need the adapter and I can connect the VTVM to the tube pins on the bottom of the chassis. The question is, what pins do I connect to? the alignment instructions do not mention which pins the adapter allows access to.

If the adapter is some kind of active device with other components in it, then obviously I will have to abandon this method and stick with hanging the VTVM on the AVC line. I am having trouble locating exactly where I would connect the VTVM to. I would appreciate any and all input.

Right off hand I would say it is just what you said, an adapter to allow for access to tube pins from the top of the chassis. By the time the 1232 tube was in use, no (loctal) tubes had the grid located at the top of the tube.
