what type is this?
#1

My grandmother asked me to try to figure out what type of radio this is. Any help would be fantastic!

A mid to late 1960s cabinet stereo, I can't tell you the brand off hand, they all pretty much look alike. In any event they don't tend to have much, if any value, at least the solid state ones, if it were a tube type Fisher it would be worth more, but still nothing outstanding. In this case it's in decent shape so someone may want it for a phonograph, or for a liquor cabinet conversion.

Often those huge 1960's to 1970's have a negative value; an owner will sometimes need to pay someone to take it away.

Thanks!

On the other hand if they work or you can stuff them with whatever and you have plenty of room, they can double as a greenhouse or sun room plant table. Agreed, virtually worthless otherwise.

If it uses a tube amplifier, the amp likely has some value to people over at audiokarma tube forum.

I would not be so negative. Any value to collectors? Absolutely none. Any value to you due to your relationship to it, you decide. Keep it if it has value to you. Sound wise, probably blows away any of the stuff most of us collect. I realize you were not particularly asking about value but model number/brand. To answer those questions, we would need some close up pictures of the control section and some looking at the back of the cabinet for that type of information.
