RCA 8x71-AM/FM
#1

Hi Guys,
I've got a good one here. AM works fine (after recap ant tube replacement). When tuning FM the dial positions are WAY off. 103.5 comes in all the way on the left of the dial with the tuning cap almost totaly closed. I can even pick up some airplanes Icon_e_surprised on the right side of the dial.
The problem is that I don't know how to adjust this. It doesn't adjust like AM. In the alignment instructions it says to adjust the osc. coil by bending it. This coil is firmly glued to a plastic rod which looks original. Any ideas where to look?

Thanks,
Eric

There are articles on FM, and someone recently posted a link here on this Phorum.
Maybe Ron remembers.
And, yes, AM generator (regular RF gens that we all have) will not work.
