Hi Everyone!
I'm the new proud owner of a 1940 Philco 40-180. It was my grandfathers. I would've never guessed that there was a website like this but I'm so lucky to have found it. Here is some pics

And we're happy to have you aboard, Buce! Icon_biggrin

Looks like a VERY nice acquisition you have made. Note that the band switch knob on your set is a 1936 band switch knob. You'll want to replace it with one that matches the other three knobs.

Thank You for the compliment Ron!!
I've had a gentleman tell me that he has alot of original knobs and told me that he is sending one. I've learned so much about this radio in such a short amount of time and greatful for the amount of support that I've received from people. I can't wait to see the look on my fathers face when I tell him to turn it on. PRICELESS!
Thanks again

Looks to be in very good condition.

I'm refinishing one I bought in August.

Here's a link you might find interesting.

You do not have to use Kapton: buy a bottle of fabric glue and simply put a thick layer to fix the turns.morzh — 04:04 PM
