1972 Pioneer model QX-4000
#1

A radio DJ friend of mine recently picked this up and asked me just to clean it up / detail the cabinet for him. He said it's a 1972 and, not knowing any better, I'll go along with that.

But what my friend doesn't have are speakers for it with the plug connectors needed for this receiver. Or just the connector ends themselves. Does anyone know a source for these?

Those are common Cinch-Jones two prong connectors. Available at pretty much any electronics wholesaler.

1972 seems a bit early, but can't say for sure. I know we started selling quad gear in 1973-74 (Fisher) at the shop I worked at.

Fisher's first 4-channel receiver, model 701, was a 1971 model (introduced fall '70) according to a 1971 Fisher catalog I have.

I guess being a small town business, we were a little behind the curve.

Thanks for the information, Brenda & Ron. I know my friend will be glad to know. So I need to search for some Cinch-Jones two prong connectors. Do you think Radio Shack would stock these yet? We have one of those in town here.
