I read all I could find on the Philco Repair Bench as well as Ron's site (may have missed something) and also searched this forum as well as ARF.
My Mystery Remote works OK, but it is SLOW in returning, which makes for erratic operation (the hold coil in the stepper sometimes releases). If I gently ensure consistent rotation return speed, everything works OK.
The finger wheel is not touching anything or binding up in my case. Perhaps the mechanism needs cleaning or lube, or a spring is weak.
I would like to remove the wheel and see if anything can be done, but I obviously do not want to break anything in the process. I think I read somewhere (don't remember where) that the center disc can be removed by holding the wheel and rotating CCW. I tried that on mine, but no luck. Again, I want to make sure that is the correct procedure before applying more force.
Any advice?
Thanks!
