I inherated a floor model from my grandparents and decided to try to find out the year on it. I have looked through all the year data and only found what I think is the furniture part number (A-801) and the label is different than the ones in the online doc. I have included an attachment of the label.
Looks like 1942 is correct. I didn't see that much detail in the online doc. I did find the schematics and the cabinet.
Attached are other pictures for reference.
I do have the cabinet as well, I just took the radio out so I could look at it and with this sites help maybe get it working again.
I don't know how many of you use Scott Harvey's Universal Schematic Locator for Rider, Beitman and Sams. Although it is a very convenient program I have found errors and omissions. The A-801 is a case in point - it doesn't appear in Scott's program under "A-801" (as it is called in this thread, on the sticker, and in Rider Vol. 14) or under "A801" (as it is called in the 1942 RMS Year Book). Instead it appears as "A 801." What complicates matters is that the Rider index calls it "A801." I have edited my copy of the Riders database for Scott's program to index it under "A-801" or "A801." Scott's web site is long gone, so I have posted the program on my site. Note that it does not include any of my edits.
