"Blonde" 42-PT95
#1

Hi there guys, long time reader, first time poster...

I've long been a fan of the Transitones. I'm working on a nice little 42-PT95. It's the blonde wood Transitone. I want to keep the original finish, it's in pretty good shape. Just some 0000 wool and mineral spirits followed by a good wood oil and then a couple light top coats of fresh lacquer will have it happy again. My challenge is on the trim pieces and top handle. These pieces have several wear spots on the edges and need to be touched up. It's an ivory to light beige looking color. Has anyone had any experience with these versions of the Transitone? Would Mohawk have something available in a toner lacquer that would work well on these pieces? I'd need real good adhesion with little to no transparency. I'm also wary of using too many coats to build up the necessary opaqueness.

Thanks, Dan

I think you would have to use some form of paint, perhaps overcoated with something. As far as I know Mohawk doesn't cover the blond range.
Best Regards
Arran
