Output Transformer for Model 41-300

Quote:The audio output transformers in Philco sets that are mounted under the chassis are all prone to failure, much more so than the older ones (1938 and older) which were mounted on the speaker. I've had to replace the output transformers on my 41-295 and 40-180 while the one on my model 90 remains strong. Is the fact that those later ones are mounted under the chassis the reason they fail more often? Any advice on how to make them last longer? Mike
