I forgot to mention that, unlike most USA-made 1939 Philco sets, this 39-6 had cloth covered wiring under the chassis instead of the usual rubber insulated wires. (The power transformer did have rubber-covered leads, as I mentioned in a previous post.) I only replaced a few of the cloth-covered wires; chiefly those visible above the chassis. However, the majority of the wiring remains original.
