Philco 37-650
#5

G'ahead...just ask me...I've been working on one off and on for months now, a chassis promised to another collector. I think I finally have all the bugs worked out of it, though; I just need to put the finishing touches on it and then ship it out of here once I am fully satisfied with it.

More info on the 37-650B may be found here:

I can't help but wonder if the production figures on this cabinet in Philco Furniture History are in error, as this model isn't that difficult to find. Either that, or else every one of them have survived 74 years and counting?

Here's a thread from last fall about a 37-650B cabinet I refinished:

Great job!
I had to order a reproduction band switch knob; the one it had was broken
Do you have a picture of the chassis?

My cabinet is in pretty good shape; one small veneer chip under Philco decal. Some scratches on top. One side got too much sun so some of the finish wore off. I steel wooled it, stained it, just the worn through spots, and put some Howard's restora on it. The front finish is so nice. Original speaker cloth. If I knew how to refinish it I would just finish the top and side veneer, and leave the front alone.
