Getting a Philco 70 tomorrow

Right-o. And the serial number is stamped in two places: one, on the back of the chassis, easily seen; and two, underneath the tuning condenser where you cannot see it unless you remove the tuning condenser.
All Model 70 sets originally had the copper Mershon electrolytics. Congratulations on a great find!
