My Philco 38-2 in process of restoration
#3

Thanks Chuck, today I worked on getting the stain that had weeped under the tape tided up. I probably paid too much initially for this radio, but in the scheme of things that has worked out with other radios but it is a nice stately looking Philco. This is the only 38-2 I have ever seen on ebay and either people think they are "butt ugly" or there are not too many out there. Started doing the sanding lacquer also so I will be sure to take some more pics along the way so that people can see that it isn't really that bad to tear into the cabinet restoration. My wife is trying to make up her mind if she wants the 38-2 or the 38-116 in the family room, I think I will swap them when I decide to get the 116's chassis restored and put it back when that is done.
