Audel's Radioman's Guide
#1

I have noticed a lot of the new folks here who could use a good reference and learning book to guide them in their troubleshooting od antique radios. one does not need fancy modern equipment. A good signal generator is pretty much a must have to do alignments, but one can use an older one, I do. I just replaced the filter condenser. To make sure it is putting out the proper frequency, I use a modern digital readout shortwave receiver to cross check it. Fortunately, it is very close at the IF frequency area, so I don't need to do that to set the IFs. This is a great reference, and I recommend it to anybody who is serious about repairing the electronics in these old sets, Audel's Radioman's Guide. It is available on Amazon for a very reasonable price, even in hardbound. https://www.amazon.com/Radiomans-Constru...%27s+Guide
