In about 1949-1950 my Dad bought a Zenith Upright with record player, it had the drop down door in the front like a drop front desk, the phonograph had two tone arms, one red and one green one for 78s and one for 33 1/3 records, both looked like snakes. It had criss cross flat brass for the speaker grill.
We used to listen to a guy read the comics on Sunday morning on that radio.
Any ideas on which model this might have been and anyone have pictures :
