Vibrator For Zenith 6V27 ?
#1

I started working on a Zenith 6V27, a 6 volt farm set. Lucky me, all the shields were on the set, but two of the # 15 tubes weren't in the set... Working on finding one through friends. BUT it looks like I will have to replace the vibrator, which is a Zenith part # 190-6V (a 6 pin synchronous type - 6 volt). Searching Google threads, I say someone mention that the Mallory 256 or 1808/4546 would be a good replacement. Where in the world, or rather who in the world sells vibrators? (Please don't flame me!). I'm already cross-eyed from searching and I sure could use some help.

Thanks!
David

BUICK, used a synchronous vibrator, there are some transistorised vibrators being made for vintage auto radios, they are $$$. You could use a four pin vibrator and use diodes for rectifier. Have you tried buzzing your vibrator on AC ? You do it in line with a 40 watt light bulb

Thanks, I'll try that
