A Short Distance From Phil to Phool
#1

After losing out on a great "Buy It Now", because I took a couple of minutes
to closely examine the listing, I quickly pounced on the Philco 70 for $79.

The title was; "1931 Philco Cathedral Radio Cabinet Model 70." My greedy mind's
eye added a comma after radio. My Pholly became clear as soon as I picked up
the box from the front step and understood that a loose chassis or speaker was
not the worst possible outcome. The $20 shipping charge also changed from
mighty generous to just plain reasonable.

Ouch...

Well, I believe a cabinet alone is worth that much isn't it?
Now, let's find a complete chassis and speaker for the same.

The cabinet has some chipping on the back of the arch, but otherwise is pretty good. So I don't feel like I
was taken, only hoist on my own petard. At least this cabinet should be easier to fill than my hollow
Garod RAF. On the bright side, UPS, Fed Ex, and my own USPS are are always hard at work creating donors.
