Holy crap, man, this is one friggin masterpiece!
Really.
You sure it is not an NIB radio you found somewhere and now pulling our legs? Icon_smile

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

The cabinet itself is beautiful, but I have to give you a thumb down Icon_thumbdown on the PHILCO decal which looks nothing like the original. You should have used the Radio Daze PH8.

Now that's a beautiful job you did, now do it over Icon_think Most people would never notice that until you said something, I don't know what to do now, I feel a headache coming on,  im going to lay down for a while. It wont happen again I promise. Don't yell at me ive got feelings. Icon_redface

Is the decal under lacquer or over?

I think Kirk did the same to my 66, but he was able to quickly correct it (not sure what and how he did).

Fred, I'm not being critical. Really. But if you post something and seek the opinions of others, if it isn't authentic, I will point it out. Not to be "better" than anyone because I certainly am not, nor would I ever want to give that impression. To me, it's about the authenticity. I think we owe it to future generations to try to get our restorations "right" as much as possible. No, we can't always achieve that goal, but we can try. And there is no doubt that your work with cabinets and lacquer is among the best I have seen. You're certainly a heck of a lot better with a cabinet than I am, for certain.

I tried to tell Radio Daze for years that their Philco decals were the wrong fonts. It took an email campaign of other Phorum members to finally convince them to make them correct.

Thanks Ron for everything you do for us here, I was just kidding around on my decal headache. Most of us would never know something is not right unless a senior tells us other wise. That is how we learn. I call it constructive criticism.   We all have to swallow it as we grow.
