Philco 116
#1

Can anyone tell me what color were used on the sides of the 116.
The finish is totaly off and some of the inlay on the front is coming off.
Any ideas on repair of the inlay would be helpful. I also have to repair three dime size holes on the side ugggg.

For the early version, the sides are very dark brown, with the wood grain barely visible. As I remember I used Mohawk Perfect Brown on mine, which is a pigmented toner.

I had to fix the inlay too, and especially to remove the bondo (painted black) added by the previous owner. I think I used ebony veneer from one of those Constantine sample kits. I remember it was a job finding matching grain.

Hi Alan; Thanks for the reply. The sides are a vary dark brown, what is left but the inlay is also a very dark brown. ? Could I use a wood filler with the dark brown or would it look to gaudy. I am not a wood specialist by no means.
