Model 38-60 Antenna
#1

Good morning all,

Just received the subject model to restore that is complete except for the antenna. It is merely a piece of very small gauge wire about 6 inches long. Must be a kluge. Does anyone know of the correct configuration or materials or part number of an original antenna? Thanks in advance for any help. Rick

There's not an original antenna per se. It is set up to be used with a random length wire (more than 6 inches!) or one of the outdoor dipoles that Philco had on the market at the time that served most all of their radios.

You'll get excellent performance with a random wire, preferably outdoors, as long and high as possible.

Or, if you want that must have original aerial, they pop up on Ebag from time to time.

Thanks guys,
I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't missing a device that was meant to be mounted inside the chassis.
