Philco 20 Help
Hi All,
I am currently working on a Philco 20 which was in pretty bad shape. Most of it is finished except for some veneer replacement on the sides. These pieces are about 1/4" wide by about 5" long. Could anybody please tell me the type of wood used on the side of the cabinet? Is veneer patching a viable option or would I have to replace all of the veneer. Mind you I am not an expert wood worker but I do alright (most of the time). Thanks Terry |

The veneer on the top and sides of Model 20 Baby Grand was originally American Black Walnut per Philco Furniture History.

Forgot to mention that veneer patching is done quite often when pieces of veneer are missing from cabinets. So, yes, it's a viable option.
