38-12 Dial Face Removal
#1

Is there any way to remove the pointer so that I can remove the cardboard dial face before I start cleaning the chassis?

Thanks,
Henry.

I restored one quite awhile back. I think that dial pointer just pulls off. Not easily, be careful with it.

It pulls out, pretty simply. Pull the pointer by the hub, not by the hand, use your fingernails to pull it. be gentle, not much effort is needed.
When using your nails, make sure you feel the pressure your joints exert onto the dial face to be very light - it is easily smushed.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Thanks. I hadn't found the edge of the hub, but I have exactly the right tool and I'll get to it tonight.

This is why I couldn't find the hub.  I held the rotor still and gave a little twist to the pointer.  Then it slid off easily.

Thanks again.
