Progress!
All tubular caps were re-stuffed. Most of the resistors were replaced for trouble free operation (I've had experience with old carbon resistors being noisy in high gain circuits.) Molded paper caps were replaced with new (I may paint the orange ones brown or find brown replacements. I don't like orange.) The candohm was disabled as per Russ and black Dale resistors sort of hidden behind it.
