Model 95 8300 ohm resistor wattage
#1

Does anyone know what the wattage rating is on  large 8300 ohm resistor (#40 on schematics)? I'm guessing 5 or 10 watts.

Here's a link to Ron's annotated schematic for the early version of the 95 for those who may be able to answer Brett's questions: LINK

Hi Brett and welcome,
Actual dissipation is 7.5W but I generally double or triple that number.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

It was probably 20-25 Watts originally, maybe the parts list will say what it was?

I just did a quick calculation as this resistor is in parallel w/the hv. 8300 ohms/250v= 7.5w. But I usually X2 or 3 so the resistor isn't flaming hot.
