RCA 45-EY-3
#1

OK Some problems with this Recapped all .. Electrolytic and all other caps.. Did not change any resistors. All were withing spec.. I did change all three tubes Same problem...

The cam in middle is all messed up.. But I think that should not cause the player to not work..

player spins and when needle is put on record i can hear it a little .. Turn volume up all the way and extremely low volume

If I pick up the needle and scratch it I can her a load hum.. So I assume the amp part is working..

and the cartridge also.. So why NO good sound??

Help

If you are still trying to use the original sodium cartridge, you won't get much. They are always DOA and need to be replaced.

No matter where you go, there you are.

Ok.. Even if I scratch the needle and get noise?

Yep. Sometimes a cartridge will have a little life left in it and make sound that way, but still be weak. Finding a more modern cartridge that you can adapt in is a better choice. If nothing else, it is way lighter and friendlier on your records!

No matter where you go, there you are.
