Mdl 70B hardware help
#1

I have an early 70B that is being reconstructed from pieces. The front panel was out when I got it so I'm not sure of the size the mounting screws use for it? The grille work was broken out so it was going to get replaced anyway. Also not sure about the screws for the speaker. I'm thinking there 8-32x11/4 long. How many? It doesn't look like there's one at the bottom unless it's behind the dial escutcheon. I saw a pic of the grille cloth/cardboard but I didn't see hole at the top or bottom. Are there only two screw that hold the speaker? I have a couple of 370's but they pretty different.

Tnx!

Terry, the 70 used three wood screws, I think 10x1 but might be 8x1. There is one screw in the top and one on each side, none in the bottom. The front side of the front panel has a counter bore at each of these screws holes with a Tinnerman speed nut to support the speaker. The screws pass through the speed nuts and screw into the front arch.
