Philco 42-390

Looking for some clarity on the chassis hookup for antenna on this model.  The cabinet has a cloth coated wire that runs the perimeter of the cabinet with a 4 pin hookup near the top back of the chassis , and the wave antenna has a 3 wire direct connection to the back of the chassis. Do they both have to be hooked up for reception.
Thanks for all your help.

Hi and welcome,

There are three wires that are part of the AM ant that connect to the copper loop. Those terminate at the 4 lug strip on the back of the chassis connections 2-4. #1 connects the the spkr and is used as a test point when performing an alignment.
