40-216 SW antenna compensating condenser
#1

My compensating condenser on the SW antenna broke. Would anyone know the value. Listed in the schematics as part # 31-6326. None of my parts books I have show it. I have tried what I have a 40-240pf and a 110-580pf. Can't dial in to a strong signal from my signal generator. Cuts it or makes it weak. If I disconnect the internal antenna and run a wire, it picks up the generator strong at 18mc, adjustment frequency.
any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

At 18mc you are not going to need much capacitance. I would start w/20mmf and go down if necessary.

Now I think I've got!
