Model 70 Chassis Swap?
Are the innards of this 70 Lowboy (High?)the same as in the cathedral? If so I may be able to complete my table set.
The chassis looks the same in the vague photo. ![]()

Re: Model 70 Chassis Swap?
Yes, the 70 console chassis is the same as that used in the cathedral. In this case, the speaker is the same also, so you could transfer the whole thing to a 70 cathedral cabinet.

Re: Model 70 Chassis Swap?
Thanks Ron. I hope the seller takes my offer and doesn't think it's a $500 treasure like most of the consoles I've seen
offered around here lately. Phil aka Philbert Q. Desenex - Twin Cities, MN |

Re: Model 70 Chassis Swap?
Wow! Chassis is in nice shape and still has the original copper electrolytic caps!

Re: Model 70 Chassis Swap?
Yes, I picked it up from the original owners son. The chassis and speaker look in decent shape. I won't feel guilty tossing the cabinet
as something bashed in the middle of the face about 10" across. My cathedral cabinet isn't perfect either but looks easier to get looking decent. Who knows when I will get around to it though. So many projects to choose from and so little talent to apply. Phil aka Philbert Q. Desenex - Twin Cities, MN |

Re: Model 70 Chassis Swap?
Could always put the cabinet on Craigslist. Someone around here will buy it and turn it into a cat condo or something if nothing else...

Re: Model 70 Chassis Swap?
I will definitely list that and a whole tubless lowboy here first for free and then CL and
"that other place." Probably in spring. Phil aka Philbert Q. Desenex - Twin Cities, MN |

Re: Model 70 Chassis Swap?
Phil, you say you have a tubeless 70 lowboy? Does it look like this?
http://www.philcoradio.com/gallery/1931b.htm#f I've been wanting a good photograph of that model for a long time now... -- Ron Ramirez Ferdinand, IN |

Re: Model 70 Chassis Swap?
I guess mine is the highboy Ron, it has the bracing between the legs. I assume the difference is in the height. Otherwise they look almost the
same to me. Higher quality veneer maybe? Odd that the more expensive one would be the more common. The tubeless with chassis/speaker is a different console. I'm using the chassis/speaker of this one for my spare cathedral 70 cabinet. Phil aka Philbert Q. Desenex - Twin Cities, MN |

Re: Model 70 Chassis Swap?
What model is the tubeless one? I have a Model 90 I'm working on now that I could always use parts for...
Edit: Model 90 Lowboy that is. Brian Mattson Coon Rapids, MN |

Re: Model 70 Chassis Swap?
The other is a model 77. I will offer it complete (less tubes) when the winter passes.
