Model 20 Winding data needed
#1

Anybody got data for the rf and detector coils? Has any rewound the speaker field coil? Size wire?
Tnx!

I have a parts chassis, I may have the rf and detector coils.

Tnx for offer! I ended up counting the turns myself. Seems that just the primaries where open and it's a fairly small winding about 50 turns. All coils now are ok. Have yet to rebuild the filter bank and then I can take her for a spin! Will keep you in mind if I need any bits or pieces. Come to think of it do you have a good driver transformer? The one on my model 21 has an open primary.

I will check it out and get back to you.
If good, yours for the shipping.

I've never tried to rewind a field coil.

If you have a Harbor Freight store near you, I would suggest you buy a micrometer from them. Then you can determine the size of the wire by measuring the original, and using a wire table which can be found in many old radio/electronics textbooks (and probably online as well), and convert the diameter to the proper wire gauge.

I picked one up a couple years ago to assist me in rewinding coils.

Oh, I looked in my notebook where I keep my notes on various Philco coils, and I don't have any data on the 20 coils so it appears I've never rewound any.
