Need help identifying a Philco
Hi everyone, very interesting site. Really neat hobby you guys have. I love the dedication and hard work thats gone into some of your stuff. These old radios are sooo cool. I'm really into the art deco styling.
Anyway onto my question(s). I was given this by my father-in-law. He said it was his dads radio. I want to restore it and make it functional again. I looked through the gallery and on other sites and cant seem to match it to anything on there. I'm sure once I have a starting point I'll be pestering you guys for parts lol. Heres the pics (and no theres absolutely no ID tag anywhere in the cabinet). Thanks in advance. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Ok, so no nibbles. Heres the last of any info I think I can provide. On the chassis is a stamped number, it's S45861. And the square dial face has a part number also, it's 27-5361. Is there any other clues that would help me to identify this?
Thanks Carl |

Hi Carl
I only had enough time to look at the first picture, and that chassis is a Model 38-15. -- Ron Ramirez Ferdinand, IN |

Well after exhaustive searching on the net I can't find a single picture of this particular model. The chassis is indeed a 38-15, but I can only find it used in a table top model and a chairside model. Nothing I've found so far in a tombstone matches what I have. Any ideas?

It appears to be a 38-15 chassis that has been installed in a 38-33F console cabinet that has been painted white. The 38-33F was a battery operated set that is shown on page 101 of Ron's book 'Philco Radio 1928-1942'.
