Long 41-255 Story Review
#1

Thank you Terry, replacing the capacitor did the job Icon_biggrin . I would never have figure it out on my own. I'm only a beginner but learning new things everyday. I purchase a 47-205, the outside is not bad maybe a little cleaning and some dark wax to shine it up. Needs a recap job and hopefully that will get it going. Has anyone ever try to clean those dial lenses with plastic polish, mine is yellow Icon_confused: Thanks again, Mark.

Glad to help!
As to the lens.. I have had fair luck polishing some yellowed lenses with toothpaste. Moisten a soft cloth and put a small amount of toothpaste on and rub gently in a circular motion like you would when polishing a car. It will not remove yellowing that goes through the plastic but surface scratches and yellowing can be removed.

Kind regards,
Terry
