Re: Difference between Butterfly 28 and 45?
Hello and welcome!
Philco 28C and 45C table models are identical in appearance. 28C: http://www.philcoradio.com/gallery/1935a.htm#i 45C: http://www.philcoradio.com/gallery/1935a.htm#u The difference? The 28 is an AC/DC set while the 45 has a power transformer, and is made for AC only. What looks like a small black transformer in the back of your 28C is actually a filter choke. The 45 has a real power transformer in this position, and it is much larger than that choke used in the 28. So, yours is genuine, it is a 28C. -- Ron Ramirez Ferdinand, IN |
