Re: Need Grille cloth help
Assuming you mean your 87 and 95 are both lowboys with the fancy grillework inside the scalloped opening, as shown here:
http://www.philcoradio.com/gallery/1929b.htm#c here are my recommendations: 87, 95, 20: Pattern #52. 21 cathedral: Pattern #1. 80B, 81B: Pattern #10. 37-116: Pattern #3. Good luck...get it fast while it's still available. -- Ron Ramirez Ferdinand, IN |

Re: Need Grille cloth help
Ah, the 370 chairside. The original cloth for this model has never been reproduced.
It's your call on this one. 70/90 cloth (pattern #1) looks good on the 370; that's what I have on mine. -- Ron Ramirez Ferdinand, IN |

Wow, Ron - that's cool! Will you do the same for my short list please?

Re: Need Grille cloth help
Oh, okay
37-84 - #5 57C - #1 or #2 60 - Which model 60 do you have? Different models used different cloth patterns. 89B, March '33 - #1 or #2 -- Ron Ramirez Ferdinand, IN |

Re: Need Grille cloth help
From <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.philcoradio.com/tech/60evol.htm">http://www.philcoradio.com/tech/60evol.htm</a><!-- m --> it looks like #60B, January 1936
Glad I asked, I have not ordered cloth yet but all of my picks were wrong! Thanks Ron |

Re: Need Grille cloth help
In that case, I am afraid you are out of luck. The final version of the 60B takes the Philco "Ribbed" cloth (#14), and neither John or Radio Daze have this any longer. Not sure about AES.

Re: Need Grille cloth help
Depending on the cabinet the 87 and 95 may have used a leaf pattern grille cloth which was never reproduced, at least in the low boy cabinets without the fretwork in the grille, the highboys sometimes used a cloth with trees in it, it was reproduced but I can't remember who offered it. When you can't find the original cloth anyhow it's an opportunity to visit the fabric store and improvise, plus the stuff at the fabric store is usually cheaper then the reproduction grille cloth. If both options are historically wrong anyhow why not use the cheaper of the two.
