Philco 40-180 Dial Lamp??
#1

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum, but not new to old radios... I'm currently working on a 40-180 that I picked up a few weeks ago at a garage sale. I'm wondering what the correct dial lamp is for this model. The lamp I found in the radio when I got it was a Tung-Sol LM27. I'm not sure what it crosses to. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

Brian

A # 44 lamp is the correct replacement.

Brian, First... welcome to the Phorum!
The philco part # 34-2210 is a frosted bulb and 6-8 volts. You can use a #44 bulb. It's clear, but it has the same bayonet base and volts/ma.

Ron, Your up early...while I was looking this up...you slipped in the reply. Icon_lol

Yeah, I'm up so early I forgot to say Welcome to Brian. Welcome, Brian! Glad to have you here.

To the best of my knowledge, you can't buy frosted bulbs with painted ends anymore, only the plain, clear 44; so I didn't bother advising of the original since it is no longer available.
