Philco Power Transformers
#1

Is there a way to get the transformer specs from the Philco part number?
Thanks

Yes there is. Let me know the PHILCO part number on the shell, which will start with a 32-xxxx or jusr four digits.
I have Philco Parts Catalogues from the about the mid-30s to 1945.

There are some already on my website in the Parts Values section.

I need one for a 38-1. The print lists part as 32-7889
I found one in a junk chasis part 32-7597N. I would like to find specs to see if it will work.
Thanks for you help.

Jim,.

No, unfortunately, it won't work. The correct p/n is actually 32-7869, not 7889, for the Model 38-1.

The HV secondary of the 32-7597 only rated at 100 ma. The 32-7869 HV secondary is 160 ma.
Also the correct transformer filament current is 6 amps, and the fil amps on the 7597 is only 3 amps.

Here are the full electrical specs for the correct 32-7869 used in the 38-1 (ALSO 38-2).

Primary = 110-120 vac
Secondary = 660 vac @ 163 ma.
Fil = 6.7 vac @ 6 A.
Rect = 5 vac @ 3 A. (Rect tube socket mounted on top shell)
