Phorum How-To #6: How Can I Add or Change an Avatar?

An avatar is a small picture you would like to be associated with yourself on the Phorum. It can be a picture of you, of a favorite radio, or just about anything else that is in good taste, not indecent, and that does not violate Phorum rules.

To add an avatar, just go to your User CP:



Look in the Menu column at left for the Change Avatar link. (If you have not uploaded an avatar, this link may read "Upload Avatar" or "Add Avatar." Since I already have one, mine reads "Change Avatar.")

Click the Change Avatar (or Add/Upload Avatar) link under Your Profile.

Important: Disregard the Local Avatar Galleries section - there are no default avatars in the Phorum. You will need to upload your own custom avatar if you wish to use one.

So let's skip down to Custom Avatar.

Where you see Upload Avatar, click the "Browse" button to the right of the text box to find the avatar you wish to use from your own computer.

Important Notice: Your avatar must not be larger than 100 x 100 pixels, and cannot be larger than 9 KB in size!

Once you find the avatar you wish to use, click the "Change Avatar" button (your computer may display "Upload Avatar" or "Add Avatar" if you have not uploaded an avatar before) and voila, your new avatar will appear next to your username in all of your Phorum posts!
