What is the correct resisior wattage
#1

I'm working on a 41-285F that is coming along nicely. I'm about to replace the out of spec resistors and would like to know what wattage rating I should use. For example, there is one 10M ohm resistor that passes less than a volt, would a 1/4 watt rating be too small or should I go higher? The original is pretty small in size.

That 10,000 ohm resistor can be a 1/2 watter. Most resistors are at least 1/2 watts, other than any power resistors. 1/4 watt resistors were not "invented" then.

A 1/4 watt resistor will NOT have the voltage rating that a 1/2 or 1 watt resistor has. A 1/2 watt resistor has about a 250 MAX voltage rating, so keep this in mind.

Thank you Chuck,

This is the first Philco I've worked on and it's been a long time since I've worked on a tube radio. I'll search for a 1/2 watter.
