1948 48-1264 Philco Console Radio, Fully Functional
#1

So, just a question.

Am I asking too much for this radio?

I'd say it's worth about half that - since you mention in your description that the radio chassis needs to be serviced or restored.

Playing w/o restoration can permanently damage radio.

Also, large post-war consoles are not in great demand generally, depending on area of the country.

If it were 1/2 that much it would be $175 which is still way too much even for a local sale. On fleabay nobody wants to pay to ship a console so most consoles are a hard sell even with a very low price. Just to give you some idea of the market, a guy local to me is selling a 1930 vintage Westinghouse model 80 console, it was priced at $150, without even seeing it first the seller asked me to make an offer. This is an antique radio, no question about it, but I guess I was the only one who asked about it, so you can imagine how little interest there would be in it if it was from 1948-50 and had a 78 RPM changer in a drawer, especially if it didn't work. If it's in the mid West you will have a great deal of trouble selling it at all.
