Model 90 about done
#1

Found a beat up 90 a few months ago locally (Craigslist). I had never tried any kind of wood work, but sometimes a total lack of knowledge isn't all bad - a kind gentleman on 'that other forum' helped me every step of the way. I screwed up my fair share, but stuck with it and now have a very nice looking radio. The chassis required the normal capping, I'm going to read more and tackle the bakelite blocks next. With the power supply caps replaced though, it plays nicely.

I think this cat is a little snotty. I think she considers herself above those electrical things.

Maybe that's one of her napping spots and views the Philco as an intruder.

She looks just like our cat who considers herself above just about everything.

Same here, Mike--and I'm grateful every time I see my console radio with its original grille cloth, and my cat continuing to ignore it. I'll have to get a sheet of acrylic and cut a speaker hole in it before the cat shuffles off this mortal coil. (She's seventeen, so I ought to get on with it.) Icon_lol

That cat loves to sit close to the 90 and listen to sports radio. I had it playing when the picture was taken, he was fascinated with the sound. So far has shown no interest in the grill cloth, so that is a good thing. I'd love to run into one of those white-cat sets, but I feel lucky enough just having a nice 90.
