Philco 19 cabinet
Hi everyone,

I am about to restore a Philco 19 cathedral cabinet. From the pictures I've viewed in books and on the web, it seems that some of the references show the inside front as darker, almost dark walnut, contrasting to a lighter outside front and sides. Other show it as one shade. Mine looks to be original finish, and the same tone.

Where there variations for this model?

Thanks, Pat

The ones I have seen that were in very good shape appear to have the equivalent of Medium Walnut on the body of the cabinet, with just enough Extra Dark Walnut on the front panel to give a two-tone contrast without going overboard. This seems to be true of all 1932-34 Philcos of that particular style, with the inset front panel.
