resistors coding
#1

I am having problem with a reading those codes on my Philco. Not that I can not identify the resistors, as with schematic and the parts list it is fairly easy, just want to understand how they marked them back then. They are different
from the newer ones and have wide bands of color on both sides- so, which
side should be #1? Some of them do make sense, like double band of the same color means that #1 and 2 are the same and then the next narrow band gives the # of zeroes, but others make no sense to me at all.

This may be helpful in decoding the early resistors.

Just was told about a new App: ELECTRODROID has all the electronic formulas etc.
