124A/ B interstage Hammond xfmrs
#1

Has anyone tried those in any radio using pushpull interstage which needs 4:1 ratio? These have 3:1.
I wonder if it resuls in some loss of power. Also size is smaller.

Had using it result in any negative effects?

Radios like 20, 111, possibly 95, 87.

I used 124E in my sparton 1466 worked as good as the original.

Mike, upon recommendation I too used a 124E on my Fada with P-P 45s. Worked dandy.

I too consider them as the modern 'go to' option.

OK ood to know, it too is 1:3 turn ratio (1:9) impedance.
Q1: Is there real advantage over A and B otions? "A" is 27 bucks vs "E" being 45 bucks.

Q2: is there some loss of power due to 1/4 of driving voltage loss? Or does it matter conidering it is a radio?

Q1 for a am radio I doubt you would notice the difference.

Q2 If the radio has a lot of audio gain probably won't notice it if it doesn't it may lack volume on weak stations.
