The Philco 17 "Mutt" Lives!

It will be comparable to your 38-12 on AM...plus the additional benefit of preset pushbuttons. I think you will find the additional SW band to be a nice feature, also.

I am happy to announce that my Philco 17 "Mutt" is back together and my friend did a good job on reviving it. The radio now seems to work fully and actually has good performance from that little five tube chassis. It even beats my 38-12 for performance, which I think is in part from the bigger speaker. Bigger speaker probably makes it seem louder and it has some bass going on there as well. Now, I need to find some correct knobs and I forgot to clean the back of the dial glass, so will have to take the chassis loose again for that. Also, I need to get my outdoor antenna rigged up this month!
