REWINDING PHILCO COILS
#1

Good Morning,
For those who may be interested.
I have come across some cut Philco coils. I pass the data in case someone has the same problem. The repaired radios work perfectly.

PHILCO 89

PRIMARY OSCILLATOR              25 SPIRES               WIRE GAUGE 39
PRIMARY RF                             12 SPIRES               WIRE GAUGE 39

PHILCO 37-84

PRIMARY OSCILLATOR               14 SPIRES               WIRE GAUGE 39

Cheers,

Ferran

Anybody know if it's the same for Philco 90? I have one in the queue with an open coil.

Perhaps the might be a good idea to start a section in the Library addressing models and coil rewinding? More specifically what coils and number of turns/wire ga. Members can fill in the blanks as to what they found that works.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

We need to get admin on board to make it happen.

This is a great idea guys! Adding a section to the library is easy.

It would be a bit harder to allow contributions to it - I will se what I can do.

Could be posted here and vetted and then admin could add to the library. This would help eliminate spam and such.

Here's the new Library page:

If there are any other old threads with coil details that you know about please let me know and I'll add them there as well.
