Philco 46-1203
#1

Just started to work on a 46-1203.. found that the resistor R2 ( 50,120 ohm) was missing.. Question what power rating do I need for a replacement ? this is the resistor the is in the filament string..

This radio uses a 50X5.. Not the 50Y6GT

Thanks

Posting a link with info looks to be 2 watt.    http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/585/M0013585.htm      If it was mine due to higher line voltages would go with 3 or 5 watt if they would fit.

Is there a way to check to see if the electronics are bad or the cartridge is bad.. i get no sound when either touching cartridge or scraping the needle..

Did you get the radio side of things working??

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!

As Norm said you need a cartridge. Drop Kirk a note and he can help you pick a suitable replacement.
