Philco 41-226
#1

Hello guys, working on this radio I found that the volume control was replaced because the on/off push button was not working. A volume control with on/off switch was installed. The volume is down so I checked the control it is stamped Philco 45-5001-8 when I measure it, it measures 1 meg, the schematic shows the volume control should be 500K. I couldn't find info on the 45-5001-8 to make sure.
Can someone tell me that the 45-5001-8 is indeed a 1 meg. I may have to put in a 500K, to get more volume.

Thanks
Jim

Here is page 62 of the Philco Parts Catalog (as found on this site). The first volume control listed is your replacement part. Hope this helps.

patrician56, thank you. I temporarily wired in a 500K control, what a difference, today I will change it out.

Love this Phorum
